Organic vegetables

The farm grows over 40 different varieties of vegetable which are sold either wholesale to supermarkets and shops, or direct to the customer through farmers’ markets or the vegetable box scheme. The crops are rotated so that each field grows a different vegetable each season. This is the method organic farmers use to make the soil fertile and help control pests and diseases.

  • The fields are surrounded by grass margins or divided by grassy 'beetle banks'. This forms an excellent habitat for insects, birds and animals which help the farmer by feeding on pests which can attack the crop.
