Lincoln red cattle

The cattle are Lincolnshire’s traditional breed but they have become increasingly rare in the Lincolnshire fens. The farm has a small pedigree 'suckler' herd. This means that they are kept as a family group and the cows raise their own calves until they are weaned (taken off their mothers' milk) at around ten months old.

• The cows graze the grass and clover on the farm.
