Organic pastures

Distinctive rocky outcrops, twisted trees and 'beetle banks' provide wonderful habitats amongst the pastures. Organic farming methods are good for wildlife and the farm provides habitats for many important species. Some of the ant hills found in the grassland are over 100 years old.

Chemical fertilisers are hardly ever used on organic farms. Instead, the soil is made more fertile by planting clover (which adds nitrogen) and adding manure.
