Limestone wall

Stone walls are a traditional feature of the area and these were built in the early 1800s. The outer stones enclose a centre of rubble, capped with top stones called 'cams'.

  • Stone walls enhance the character of the local landscape and can also provide habitats for lichens, lizards and ladybirds.
