Galloway Cattle

Galloway cattle

The farm keeps a herd of Galloway cattle which are a hardy breed well-suited to the worst weather that Cumbria can produce. When crossed with a shorthorn bull, they produce the distinctive blue-grey calves which suckle their mothers until weaning at around nine months old.

  • These traditional breeds mature naturally and slowly and produce outstanding flavoured meat which is available direct from the farm.
