Welcome to the trail at Elm Farm

Elm Farm is a working beef, sheep and cereal farm. The cattle and sheep are fed on grass and cereals grown on the farm. Most of the grain produced is used to feed Elm Farm livestock. The small amount of excess grain left after feeding Elm Farm’s cattle is sold to other organic farmers to use as organic livestock feed.

Elm Farm Research Centre, an educational charity, is based at Elm Farm. The centre develops and promotes organic agriculture through research, education, training and advisory services.

As a mixed organic farm, Elm Farm provides a huge range of habitats for wildlife, as well as producing good nutritious food. This trail shows some of the habitats found on the farm and demonstrates how organic farming can works with nature, rather than against it.
