Dairy cows

Eastbrook has two dairy herds which produce organic milk from the grass and clover pastures. The cows are black and white Freisians. The cows are milked twice a day and the milker will have to get up early in the morning to allow the optimum 12 hours between each milking.

The farm has developed an innovative and humane veal calf system for the dairy calves. They are reared by surrogate mothers in a 'state of the art' building that provides for excellent animal welfare.
